Games Day
Learning With Play
At Little Flamingo Academy Montessori, Games Day is one of the most anticipated events during our holiday program. The children look forward to an entire day filled with fun, excitement, and friendly competition, engaging in a variety of indoor and outdoor games. Games Day is not just about entertainment; it’s also an opportunity for the children to enhance their social skills, develop teamwork, and improve coordination. Whether they’re participating in relay races, scavenger hunts, or classic Montessori games, children learn to collaborate, communicate, and problem-solve in a playful environment. The sense of joy and camaraderie that fills the air makes this day truly special for everyone.
Creativity Unleashed
Our holiday program offers even more themed days to keep the children creatively and actively engaged.
Make It Monday is a day dedicated to themed art, where children get to unleash their creativity by making craft projects based on various themes. On Bake a Treat Tuesday, children can indulge in one of their favorite activities—decorating cookies or baking chocolate and vanilla lamingtons. They love getting hands-on with icing, sprinkles, and creating edible masterpieces, all while learning valuable skills in the kitchen. Wacky Wednesday is reserved for both indoor and outdoor games, where children explore new challenges and strengthen their physical abilities in a fun and energetic atmosphere.
Benefits
Thursdays in our holiday program are especially thrilling, with science experiments, movie time, or even a jumping castle to enjoy.
We have also brought in special guests to elevate the excitement. One year, we hired a Magic Man who captivated the children with his magic tricks, sparking their curiosity and wonder. On another occasion, a visiting Scientistled interactive experiments, giving the children a hands-on science experience that combined learning with entertainment. These special activities enrich the holiday program, offering children unique, memorable experiences while supporting Montessori principles of curiosity, exploration, and joy in learning.
