Physical Education

A Core In Our Curriculum

At Little Flamingo Academy Montessori (LFAM), physical development is just as important as academic and sensory learning. As part of our weekly curriculum, we hold Physical Education (PE) sessions that provide our children with opportunities to develop their motor skills, coordination, and overall fitness. To ensure the children get the most out of these sessions, we hire Ms. Bronwyn, an expert in physical education, who runs Clamber Club—a program that focuses on a variety of exercises and movement-based activities that align perfectly with the Montessori philosophy of holistic development.

A Dynamic Approach

Clamber Club offers a dynamic and engaging approach to physical education, with activities designed to build strength, balance, and flexibility in young children. Ms. Bronwyn creates a playful yet structured environment where children are encouraged to explore their physical capabilities through climbing, jumping, stretching, and more. These exercises not only help improve their gross motor skills but also teach children important concepts like spatial awareness, teamwork, and persistence. The sessions are interactive and fun, allowing children to move their bodies freely while following simple instructions that enhance their focus and listening skills.

Benefits

By integrating Clamber Club into our weekly PE sessions, we ensure that children at LFAM are developing in a well-rounded way, physically, mentally, and emotionally.

The Montessori approach values independence and active learning, and Ms. Bronwyn’s classes allow children to take ownership of their physical growth by engaging in activities that challenge them to push their limits while having fun. Through these regular physical activities, the children also build confidence, self-discipline, and a love for movement, laying the foundation for healthy lifestyle habits in the future.
